Hot spring use is for staying guests. Chalets from RM420 a night with breakfast (Larva, Mekar) and RM588 (Puupa) on the official site; RM100 refundable deposit per room. No day-pass price is published; call 05-352 0363 or 016-952 0363 to ask.

Sementra Hot Spring Nature Resort is a small rainforest resort at Kampung Ulu Geroh, outside Gopeng, with one natural hot spring pool and a swimming pool fed by waterfall water. You reach it on a narrow road through an oil palm estate, then sleep in chalets built over a lake or facing the forest.

It suits couples and small families who want a quiet night or two near Gopeng's rafting and caving, with a warm soak in the evening. It is a place to stay, not a day-trip hot spring: the resort does not publish any walk-in or day-pass option.

The hot spring

There is one natural hot pool, big enough for about ten adults, next to the cold waterfall-fed pool and a children's pool. A guest in June 2026 found the hot pool not very large and a bit lukewarm, but comfortable for a long soak; a September 2026 reviewer put it at around 40°C. An October 2026 guest said you usually have it to yourself on weekdays. The resort has not published a temperature or water analysis.

The 1997 national inventory lists a spring at Kg. Ulu Geroh, Gopeng, at 38°C at the surface. It is probably the same source, but no document links the two directly. The same inventory also lists a 43°C spring at Hulu Kampar Estate, Gopeng, which has no visitor information.

Rooms and prices

The official site lists three chalet types, all with breakfast and a private balcony:

  • Larva: standalone chalet on the lake, 2 guests, from RM420 a night.
  • Puupa: semi-detached lake chalet, 3 guests, from RM588.
  • Mekar: forest-view unit on the ground or first floor of a two-storey chalet, 2 guests, from RM420.

A camping site from RM250 is listed as coming soon. Trip.com lists a RM100 refundable deposit per room. Check-in is 3pm to 8pm and check-out by noon; the front desk runs 8am to 9pm, and if you will arrive after 9pm you need to phone at least a day ahead.

Food and facilities

The resort serves buffet-style breakfast and dinner in its restaurant and café. Guests in 2026 called the food tasty, though one found it pricey and another said the menu is short. There is a games room with snooker and foosball, BBQ and karaoke at extra cost, free Wi-Fi in public areas and free parking.

The grounds have a short forest trail, a water trail across river stones, fish feeding and cycling paths, and the resort highlights sightings of Rajah Brooke's birdwing butterflies. Outside the resort, Gopeng is a base for white-water rafting, waterfall abseiling and cave trips.

Reviews and status

Google Maps reviews from September and October 2026 confirm it is open, with couples and office team-building groups among the guests. Reviewers say the manager often walks guests round the grounds to show them the hot spring and the birdwing butterflies, that there are hardly any mosquitoes, and that the resort can arrange white-water rafting, a BBQ dinner and karaoke. There are no other restaurants nearby, so every meal is at the resort; one September 2026 reviewer found the food decent and fairly priced, another wished it had more flavour. On Trip.com, with reviews to September 2026, the access road is the usual complaint.

Getting there

The address is Lot 15918, Kampung Ulu Geroh, 31600 Gopeng. From Ipoh it is under 40 minutes by car. The last stretch runs through an oil palm estate on a narrow, winding, bumpy one-way road with no street lights, so arrive in daylight and take it slowly in a low car. From Kuala Lumpur, take the North-South Expressway to the Gopeng exit. Without a car, a guest in 2026 paid about RM30 for a Grab from around Kampar station. Parking is free on site.

Before you go

  • Drive in before dark; the estate road is narrow, one-way and unlit.
  • Come midweek if you want the hot pool to yourself. An October 2026 guest said it is usually empty on weekdays.
  • Book a Larva or Puupa chalet if you want to sleep over the lake; Mekar faces the forest.
  • Phone at least a day ahead if you will arrive after 9pm, when the front desk closes.
  • Bring snacks; meals come from the resort kitchen and guests say the menu is short.
  • Bring your own fishing or sports gear; guests note the resort doesn't lend any.
