Beacon Resort Hot Springs is the natural hot spring at Beacon Resort, a riverside wellness resort at Kampung Gumut Tambahan, Kalumpang, about an hour's drive north of Kuala Lumpur. Its five pools range from 29°C to 40°C, set alongside the Inki River, a mini animal farm and Santorini-style rooms.

This is a booked, all-inclusive day out rather than a walk-in soak. It suits families with children, corporate groups and couples who want hot pools, meals and activities in one ticket. If you only want a quick dip, the free council-run Kerling Hot Spring is about 4 km away.

The hot spring pools

The resort has five pools fed by a geothermally heated natural spring, from 29°C in the coolest to 40°C in the hottest. That is mild compared with Selangor's public springs, so it works for children and first-timers. The pools are open 7am–10pm, though day-trip guests are on site only 10am–5pm.

The resort lists calcium, sodium bicarbonate, silica and sulphur in the water. These are the operator's own claims; we found no published lab analysis. Wear swimwear or fitness clothing in the pools.

The resort advises against the hot spring for people with heart conditions, pregnant women and anyone menstruating.

What a day trip includes

Day trips start from RM110 per adult and RM77 per child aged 5–12. The ticket covers a buffet lunch, afternoon tea, the hot spring, the Inki River, a ranger-led jungle trek, the mini animal farm, grass sliding and play areas.

The set schedule runs from 10am arrival to 5pm check-out, with the hot spring slot listed for late morning. If you stay past 5pm you must buy dinner. Foot therapy, AromaTouch therapy and massage cost extra. The day-trip page listed horse riding as unavailable until further notice, though June and July 2026 reviewers mention horse rides, so ask when you book.

Staying overnight

Rooms start from about RM330 a night, with 2-day/1-night and 3-day/2-night packages that include meals. Check-in is 3pm and check-out noon; late check-out costs RM100 per room per hour. The latest arrival is 11pm, or the booking is cancelled without refund; if you will arrive after 6pm, call +6013-388 1308 before 3pm that day. Besides the rooms there is a safari tent and the Starry Campsite.

Guests must be 18 or over to check in, and under-18s on day trips need a parent or guardian.

The Inki River

The clear Inki River runs through the grounds, with hammocks on the bank. Swimming is at your own risk, open 7am–7pm, and off limits during or after heavy rain because the water can rise quickly. Children must be with an adult.

What recent visitors say

Google reviews from June to August 2026 describe the pools as warm rather than hot, with the warmest pool the favourite. No towels are provided at the hot spring or the Inki River, and staying guests get a limited number of towel exchanges, so bring your own. Day-trippers can use lockers for a RM5 deposit.

If you are staying overnight, do not arrive hours early: a June 2026 family was not allowed into the resort or its facilities before check-in, and the lobby café sold only drinks.

Rules to know

No outside food, no pets. Day guests need an e-ticket or booking confirmation at the front desk and must sign a declaration form. Reception is open 8am–6pm.

Getting there

Address: PT 4049, Mukim Sungai Gumut, Kampung Gumut Tambahan, 44100 Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor.

By car: about 60 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, according to the resort. Take Federal Route 1 (Jalan Kuala Lumpur–Tanjung Malim) north; Kampung Gumut Tambahan sits on that road about 1.5 km south of Kalumpang. Our map pin is the resort's Google Maps listing.

Access road: the last stretch is gravel. June and July 2026 reviewers describe potholes and no street lights, and one suggests driving out before 6pm. A ride-hailing driver nearly cancelled on one June 2026 guest because of the road.

Public transport: OpenStreetMap shows Setara Jaya bus stops at Kampung Gumut Tambahan, but driving is far more practical with a fixed 10am check-in. On arrival, the check-in line is +6011-3333 8050.
