The pools
The main communal pool is open-air and surrounded by bamboo. The operator's website says the water is kept at 42°C, its Google listing gives a range of 39 to 45°C, and SAYS (July 2026) describes it as warm rather than scalding. October 2026 reviewers describe one main pool about 60 cm (2 ft) deep, with hot water welling up at several points and a platform in the middle; people also sit on the edge to soak their feet. The water is clear, but the bed is sandy with bits in it, and Wanderlog's review summary mentions a natural mud base. The kids' pool is shallow and, according to the operator, temperature-controlled; an October 2026 reviewer called it lukewarm.
What's in the water
The website calls the water sulphur-rich and lists a long set of health benefits, and the Google listing gives pH 7.42 to 7.92, but we found no published lab analysis of this pool. A 2019 UKM study of the Sungai Serai spring field did not test for sulphur. It measured neutral water at 43.5 to 46.1°C with about 31 mg/L of silicon and low iron and calcium. Treat the health claims as marketing.
Entry prices
RM6 Monday to Thursday and RM7 Friday to Sunday and on public holidays, for adults and children aged 7 and up. Children under 7 enter free with an adult. Non-Malaysians pay RM10. In September and October 2026 reviewers reported paying RM7 as Malaysians, one of them on a weekend.
Toilets and changing rooms
October 2026 reviewers found plenty of parking and enough changing rooms, plus toilets and showers. The toilets are a walk from the pool with no clear signs, so ask at the counter. In September 2026 reviewers complained that the changing room next to the pool smelled and that one fitting room seemed to have a small peephole; in October the operator replied that the changing room had been repaired and toilet cleaning stepped up. Google lists wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance and toilets.
Private rooms
There are two private rooms, Jasmine and the larger Lily Villa, each with its own mineral pool, changing room, toilet and drinking-water dispenser. The website quotes two different rates: RM69 an hour (RM59 promotion) for up to six guests on the room listings, and RM89 an hour (RM49 promotion) on the facilities panel. Confirm the price when you book. Private rooms run from 9am to 11pm and can be booked on the website.
Massage and therapy
The centre offers massage, physiotherapy and cupping (bekam). A one-hour treatment is RM210 and takes a 1 hour 15 minute slot, 1.5 hours is RM260 and 2 hours is RM300. It opens 8am to 9pm on Monday and Thursday to Saturday, 4pm to 9pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and is closed on Sunday.
Food
The stalls sell satay and laksa, fish and chips and chicken or lamb chop, and Middle Eastern food such as hummus, shawarma and nasi arab. They open daily from 6pm until 2am (3am according to the Google listing) only, so there is no lunch here.
Groups and events
There is an indoor multipurpose hall for RM130 an hour or RM650 for an 8-hour day, and event packages from RM35 per person. Ask on WhatsApp for a quote.
Getting there
Take Jalan Hulu Langat (B52) from Kuala Lumpur, Ampang or Cheras towards Hulu Langat town. Serai Bamboo is at Batu 12 in Kampung Sungai Serai. The operator puts it about 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. Parking is free. Public transport to Hulu Langat is limited, so drive or use e-hailing, especially for a late-night soak.
Before you go
- Friday counts as weekend pricing (RM7). Monday to Thursday is RM6.
- Come after 6pm if you want to eat. The food stalls are closed during the day.
- Check which private-room rate applies before you pay. The website shows both RM69 and RM89 an hour with different promotions.
- Massage is closed on Sundays and only opens from 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Children under 7 are free and can use the shallow, lukewarm kids' pool instead of the main pool.
- Find the toilets before you change. October 2026 reviewers say they are away from the pool with no clear signs.
